It was kept as a draft. It was nominated for deletion as a draft by a non-good-faith actor. But that is not evidence that there was a consensus that the subject is notable after someone challenged its notability. Drafts are not deleted for lack of notability so a draft being kept does not mean that editors thought that the subject is notable. —Alalch E. 15:18, 10 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Sure, maybe, but the page was discussed and the then-draft found promising by some users, whereas deletion was NOT discussed, so that stating ’has been previously deleted’ here (an AfD venue, where consensus is what matters) is misleading imv. -My, oh my! Delete I don't find any substantial, reliable sources for this. Most of what is here are student publications, including F Newsmagazine, which is a student publication of the Arts Institute of Chicago. The coverage in Collider and The Gamer is limited to a few paragraphs in a page with many other entries, and formulaic in style. AKA: promotional. Your first two links are single-paragraph WP:ROUTINE news stories that do not provide WP:SIGCOV. Your third link is dead, but the archived version shows it is a commemorative anniversary book published by the subject of the article and thus not independent. None of these sources get to GNG, and the School page you linked is a non-binding essay. The actual policy, WP:NSCHOOL, requires schools to meet WP:GNG, WP:NORG, or both, and so far there are no sources that contribute to either guideline. WP:NSPORT is a little looser than WP:GNG. Unlike with GNG, "Sports biographies must include at least one reference to a source providing significant coverage of the subject, excluding database sources." Lacks notability. The only significantly notable thing associated with JUNIPER is "goblin mode", which already has its own Wikipedia page (WP:BLP1E). Most information about JUNIPER could be added to that page. JUNIPER herself is not very notable. Many of the sources used as references mention her only in passing (usually because she responded to a more prominent person's post online) or are primarily about goblin mode. - Comment: As I have become more experienced here, I am more open to a deletion. I knew this would come eventually, because it was never properly addressed in the other two AfD's. The article hinges on goblin mode for notability a bit, but it should be kept in mind that she created/popularized other memes, and had added notability after her suspension. That's not just one event. Still, this article could easily be deleted and separate memes and events go to their own parent articles, simply referencing her. Junlper herself does only have a few articles about her, so I'm open to any outcome.

Comment: Just to note, I do not think JUNIPER's other publicised things (her suspension and the Snickers dick vein meme/hoax) represent anything notable, certainly not to the extent of goblin mode. The Snickers dick vein hoax had a Wikipedia page which was subsequently merged with several other articles before eventually redirecting back to JUNIPER's, which makes its lack of notability for Wikipedia standards apparent. Its just an internet meme, not every internet meme is notable just for being popular or having an internet-culture website write an article on it. If that were true, Chris-Chan would have had a Wikipedia page long ago. I agree with you that the Snickers dick vein probably should not have its own page per WP:NOPAGE despite reliable source coverage. However, the bar for inclusion of individuals does not require them to be responsible for multiple things that meet Wikipedia's notability guidelines, only significant coverage of them and/or their work in reliable sources. For example, Junlper's suspension would not meet WP:NEVENT and should not have its own page, but the reliable sources that did cover it lend to her own notability. The latest article discussing her suspension in any amount of depth was NBC in January 2024. Since she went viral in February 2022 for the goblin mode tweet, that is almost two years of reliable source coverage, which seems enough to avoid deletion under WP:SUSTAINED. -- Patar knight - ^chat/_{contributions} 14:08, 23 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Delete, I usually hate deleting articles but I feel that it should be done here. A good portion of the sources (Business Insider, The Focus, tweets, Forbes contributors) are unreliable; Outlook India and News 18 have been known to publish misleading articles in the past. Some others (Vox, Buzzfeed News) are interviews and therefore can't be used to establish notability. Business Insider is marked as generally reliable for culture topics such as this one at WP:RSP. The Focus/Forbes contributor sources have now been removed, and the tweets are only used when the tweets are discussed in the article or under acceptable WP:BLPSELFPUB purposes. The guidance at WP:NEWSORGINDIA for Outlook India is primarily about hidden content, which is almost certainly not the case here, though the article subject is only mentioned in passingare multiple other sources that are far more reliable and in-depth. The previous deletion discussion happened amidst her ongoing controversy over the Twitter ban and seemed to indicate that she was indifferent about the page staying. Keep. WP:BLP1E clearly does not apply here as the nominator and others suggest. To have an individual article, BLP1E's first prong only requires reliable sources to discuss article subjects in the context of more than one event, not more than one notable event. Here, the three biggest are clearly the creation of the "goblin mode" phrase and Snickers dick vein stuff in early 2022 and her Twitter ban in late 2023. Junlper was central to both events, so the third prong of BLP1E also does not apply. Having given multiple interviews, hosting a podcast, and making shitposts that have collectively gotten millions of views means that she is not a low-profile individual and the second prong would also not apply.

With BLP1E out of the way, the analysis turns to the coverage in reliable sources (i.e. WP:BIO, WP:ENT, WP:GNG). Merely being an internet shitposter does not mean that one is automatically non-notable. Nor does the coverage have to focus on the article subject as an individual versus their posts. Some of the stuff here could probably be cut down, but the above voters are mischaracterizing the state of the sources. There is substantial, in-depth coverage from reliable sources as multiple commentators noted in the previous, much more attended AfD found. Full, standalone articles including those from Rolling Stone, Business Insider, The Messenger, Techdirt should be sufficient to for notability purposes by themself, even if we cast aside the Indian news outlets that are possibly less reliable. Then there is the multi-paragraph introduction to the Buzzfeed News interview (which is exclusive to the article subject), multiple articles that devote a paragraph or two to her posts/their fallout (e.g. Mary Sue, NBC, The Advocate, Rolling Stone, Snopes, Vox), and an interview that technically does do some factchecking (Vox), which combined should be enough to meet ~~WP:SIGCOV~~WP:BASIC.

As for WP:BLPREQUESTDELETE, the previous AfD seemed to indicate that she was indifferent to it being kept, and she may not be eligible for such a deletion because she is a public figure, though if she has indicated a preference now, that is worth noting. I added a few more reliable independent sources (e.g. Association of Iranian Contemporary Music Composers (ACIMC)).

In my opinion, Rafie meets criteria for Wikipedia:NMUSICOTHER, saying "Composers and performers outside mass media traditions may be notable if they meet at least one of the following criteria: Has composed a number of notable melodies, tunes, or standards used in a notable music genre."

The competitions are notable from my point of view, especially considering the small world of contemporary experimental (classical) music. This group received some coverage when it first launched in 2018, but that's mainly a function of having a good publicist. Since 2018, they've received very little in-depth coverage. There's some in-depth coverage of its leadership, but most articles I could find only mention BEA in passing. An editor removed my PROD on this article because they found a "recent NYT article that refers to organization's recent activity," which they said "addresses the issue" I had. Comment - why does it matter that "filming is complete" - the film is not being released until 2025. WP:NFF is clear: Additionally, films that have already begun shooting, but have not yet been publicly released (theatres or video), should generally not have their own articles unless the production itself is notable per the notability guidelines. WP:BLP of a cookbook author and filmmaker, not reliably sourced as having a strong claim to passing notability criteria for either occupation. As always, people are not automatically entitled to have Wikipedia articles just because they exist, and have to show evidence of WP:GNG-worthy coverage about them in media independent of themselves -- but the only notability claim on offer here is that her work exists, and the article is referenced to one (deadlinked but recoverable) short blurb that isn't enough to get her over GNG all by itself if it's all she's got for GNG-worthy coverage, and one primary source that isn't support for notability at all.
The article, further, has been tagged for needing more sources since 2011 without ever having better sources added, and a WP:BEFORE search came up dry as all I found in ProQuest was the blurb and a small handful of glancing namechecks of her existence in coverage of events.

Broken Pencil also has a good number of reviews on her zines, e.g., one for The Day I Stopped Being Punk [11]. There's also an interview with her in Joe Biel's Beyond the Music: How Punks are Saving the World with DIY Ethics, Skills, & Values (Microcosm Publishing) on pages 150–152. What is not primary-sourced development information or plot summary is sourced entirely to trivial mentions or listicles that mention him alongside all other characters, only indicating KOF characters are notable as a group. Reviewed during NPP. With GNG clearly not a possibility, Ngeo is the only possibility. Of the two references, one only about linguistices put in to support a linguistics. The other source is a short article about a court case about non-residential building being built in a residential neighborhood, and that article refer to this as a residential area. A google map search yields a zillion Heera Nagar's, so it's apparently common to name residential areas "Heera Nagar" possibly based on linguistics.

As always, writers are not "inherently" notable just because their work exists, and have to show evidence of passing WP:GNG on third-party coverage and analysis about their work -- biographical information, reviews of their books by professional literary critics, evidence of noteworthy literary awards, etc. -- but this cites no GNG-worthy sourcing at all, and in fact the closest thing to a "reference" in it (until I stripped it just now) was the self-published directory profile of a non-pseudonymous writer who wasn't claiming herself to be the author of any of these books, and thus appears to have been a "publicize her by piggybacking onto an unrelated article" stunt (or possibly, but not verifiably, insider info) rather than evidence of the notability of "Margaret Pargeter".

Hello. To provide some context, I plan on creating articles for Jordanian clubs that have participated in the Jordanian Second Division League, to which Deir Alla have in 2022. I set this as my limit, given that third-tier clubs and above participate in the Jordan FA Cup and there are no actively fourth-tier teams that participate in the national cup, unlike in some other countries. I don't plan on creating articles of teams that have only played in the fourth tier (i.e. the Jordanian Third Division League), as they are not notable enough to be discussed as an article.

I disagree. Bluebird K7 forms only a part of Bill Smith's pioneering work using adapted side-scan sonar equipment. Without his experience in this specific art, the site of K7's lake-bed location would not have been found anew. Also, through Bill Smith's own work on the HMHS Britannic search, the then unknown reasons for sinking of this important vessel, now a war grave, was established beyond doubt. You might have been influenced in your judgement by taking sides in what was an ugly editing war surrounding the Bluebird K7 article. So, yes you are right, but only up to a point. Comment @Pygos: Please see WP:EXIST. As for other articles of similar quality being deleted, by all means, let's delete them. Have a look at my edit history and you'll see that clearing Wikipedia of stubs like this is a recent crusade of mine. The existing sources are useless; one is a single word mention that doesn't even support the content it is cited to, and the other is a YouTube video. Comment. Hi toweli there are also mentions alongside other webcomic collectives in A History of Webcomics (2006) and Webcomics 2.0 (2008) also has a section on webcomics collectives. So combined with the Comics Grid Journal article you found...and possibly others (that don't mention Dayfree Press), my proposed solution as a WP:ATD (if you are interested) would be to create a new "List of webcomic collectives" article (if one doesn't already exist) and redirect Dayfree Press to that one. The ASN source cites airdisaster.ru as its source of information, airdisaster.ru does not cite any sources itself and has been the topic of a past discussion at Wikipedia:Reliable_sources/Noticeboard/Archive_446#airdisaster.ru. Most of the currently uncited material in the article is a close paraphrase of the limited information that appears on airdisaster.ru, and the baaa-acro.com source is a WP:SPS. I've spent some time trying to find even a brief mention of this accident in reliable sources, and have failed. While Wikipedia's notability guideline is based on the existence of suitable sources, not on the current state of sourcing in an article, the policy does state that information on Wikipedia must be verifiable; if no reliable, independent sources can be found on a topic, then it should not have a separate article. Comment: I can't believe I have to ask this, but, as this place seems to be existent, just very obscure, should this article be kept just for the sake of completeness of Decatur County, Indiana? It's obviously not up to WP:NGEO, but so are many of the other articles in Decatur County, Indiana, like Knarr Corner, Indiana and New Pennington, Indiana. Deleting this would mean that many other articles of similar quality should be deleted. I recognize this situation similar to that discussed in Wikipedia talk:Notability#RfC: Notability and British Rail stations. Is this place notable just for existing? What do you think? Merge with a totally unrelated company? Andhra Pradesh Power Generation Corporation Limited is a power generation company owned by Andhra Pradesh state government, the Andhra Pradesh state government owns lots of companies.

The Power Generation Corporation generates and supplies power to not only this distribution company but it supplies power to whole Power Grid of India. The main monolithic supplier APSEB was split into a grid supplier and the Andhra Pradesh Power Generation Corporation Limited. The regional generator were split off from this organisation into regional supplier. They are all owned by Andhra Pradesh government. The Power Generation Corporation generates and supplies power to not only this distribution company but it supplies power to whole Power Grid of India. Keep The article as it is now, although short, already has some content which would not fit into a dictionary. And a WP:BEFORE search shows that various sources dealing with table-top roleplaying games have more to say: On A Roll p. 45, The Civilized Guide to Tabletop Gaming p. 66 and The Postmodern Joy of Role-Playing Games all have about a page of content, including commentary. And the journal Analog Game Studies Vol. IV has a full essay on the topic. How can 6+ pages contain "only a definition"? So it seems to me the nomination is mostly talking about the current status of the article, which is not decisive when deciding about deletion. All that said, the first and primary paragraph could be merged in to Role-playing game terms, and later be spun out again as soon as someone uses the listed sources further. But aside from that fact that I see no advantage in that, it would already be akward to fit in the other contexts where same term may pop up, but more rarely so if the Google Books search is any indication. That's a good question. My comment above was based on a skim of the essay, and looking back now I do think I overstated things. You're right that the essay is primarily a literary discussion of Potter's book. However in its discussion of the book's legacy and impact it does verify that the concept of gamesmanship has had an enduring life of its own. I have reviewed all the citations and see nothing but routine mentions and quotes, other than what looks like a complex spine surgery case (but WP:BLP1E suggests this would need to have lasting impact). @Monophile you should spend some time familiarizing yourself with the various notability policies and guidelines especially those for living persons and professors. Had you done this you'd probably agree the deletion rationale is clear. Continuing to create these articles may be a waste of time, both yours and other editors', if the article subjects are unable to meet notability rules. I don’t care about support on an AfD and I’m just seeing that. You have to say your mind on what is right without doing anything in favor of the nominator. Also your reason for a merge is still pointless. The lekki, Mainland, Ajah and so on that was talked about on the Lagos State article don’t they have an article of their own?. You should just say we should start merging all the Lagos market to Lagos State article because of a pointless reason. Even the Alaba International Market was never mentioned in the Lagos State article despite its a well known popular area. You mentioned a statement above of which I believe they are sources you must have seen to say such, so add them to the article as it’s a part of improvement to the article. this also satisfies. The Prometheus Society has been active for over 40 years. It has had hundreds of members, and its journal, Gift of Fire, has had over 200 issues printed. Every article I know of that discusses high IQ societies more selective than Mensa mentions it. OK, this seems to be something of a borderline notability case. I'm nominating this because there may be decent sourcing that exists to establish notability, but also because this could potentially wind up getting deleted in the end. There was no consensus about this article at AfD back in 2008, but many of the "keep" votes from back then could only cite things like Google search results and sponsorships (see WP:INHERITED), when not just resorting to copouts with WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS. Most of the sources cited are WP:PRIMARY, and I can't find much information about this site via Google outside of unreliable, WP:NOTRSMUSIC databases. I'm not saying this positively needs to go, but if it's going to stay, it needs serious improvements. But for now, I would like to invite other people to comment with what they think. Delete per nomination. Tried searching for SIGCOV in reliable sources in English and Malayalam (റിയൽ മലബാർ എഫ്.സി.), and the best I could come up with was routine coverage in Mathrubhumi [35], [36], and passing mentions in Madhyamam [37], The Hindu [38], the Times of India [39] and Kerala Kaumudi [40],[41], nothing substantial enough for WP:GNG.

This article has a long history of sockpuppetry, as shown in the linked SPI and its archive. It should have been speedy deleted G5, but the latest creator account is stuck in the SPI backlog, so it's not technically eligible. Real Malabar F.C. is EC-protected, but it's been recreated under several spelling variants in draft and main space: this one was originally created as Real Malabar F.C, and moved to main space by a now blocked sock. I wasn't able to find any reliable sources, and aside from the Producey Podcasts source, the only sources on the page that might be argued to count as "reliable" focus entirely on a single incident (and don't really talk about the podcast). I don't think draftifying is a good solution given that there don't appear to be any RS at all. At the very least, it falls under TOOSOON, but it's likely that it will never pass the GNG. Merge to Yavin 4, the actual important location in the franchise, and very likely what people are actually looking for if they search for "Yavin". Per WP:NOPAGE, these should really be covered together, and Yavin 4 is the obvious primary topic here - case in point, the vast majority of the content of this article is actually talking about Yavin 4. There are some sourced bits of information here, such as the history of its development in the first part of the "Depiction" section, that are not present in the Yavin 4 article, so a bit of a merge should occur.
